On the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5, GEFSINUS reaffirms its commitment to operating with respect for people and the planet.
For us, sustainability is not merely a corporate obligation or an additional initiative. It is part of our daily mindset, our way of operating, and our continuous evolution.
At GEFSINUS, we demonstrate environmental responsibility in practice by implementing sustainable practices across every stage of our operations. Through targeted initiatives and modern solutions, we work daily to reduce our environmental footprint and use natural resources responsibly.
In this context, we implement sustainable development practices aimed at energy savings and reduced resource consumption. At the same time, we actively recycle electrical and electronic equipment as well as batteries, contributing to proper waste management and environmental protection. Particular emphasis is also placed on the management of organic waste in our production facilities. In parallel, we are gradually renewing our truck fleet with new, state-of-the-art vehicles, while a significant portion of the Group’s passenger vehicles has already been replaced with electric vehicles, contributing to lower carbon emissions.
With sustainability as a guiding principle, we are also investing in clean energy production through privately owned photovoltaic systems, which cover up to 30%–32% of our energy needs. In this way, we actively reduce our dependence on the public grid, limit our carbon footprint, and strengthen the environmental responsibility of our daily operations.
The use of natural gas in our facilities contributes to lower emissions, while motion-sensor lighting systems reduce unnecessary energy consumption. At the same time, we implement cleaning processes in our production units with a focus on the responsible and efficient management of water resources.
