GEFSINUS: €40,000 Donation to Healthcare Facilities Across Greece and How It Was Utilized

GEFSINUS, the largest contract catering company in Greece, demonstrated its active support for medical and nursing staff from the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, contributing in a practical and impactful way to healthcare institutions across the country.

The company provided donations totaling €40,000, allocated as follows:

  • €20,000 to the General Hospital of Asklipieio Voula

  • €20,000 to the General Hospital of Rethymno

These funds were intended to address urgent needs and operational gaps within the respective healthcare facilities during a period of increased pressure on the national health system.

Utilization of the Donation

The General Hospital of Asklipieio Voula used the €20,000 donation to renovate the windows and doors of its Pediatric Department, including the installation of new doors, windows, and insect screens, significantly improving the infrastructure and comfort of the unit.

The General Hospital of Rethymno allocated its €20,000 donation toward the purchase of essential medical equipment, including a portable cardiac ultrasound device and an air disinfection system. The air purification system was installed in the Emergency Department (ER), while the portable ultrasound device is being used across various departments, enabling broader diagnostic coverage throughout the hospital.

GEFSINUS, remaining committed to its core values of corporate social responsibility, continues to support collective efforts between the public sector, private organizations, and civil society. The company remains dedicated to contributing to the national response to public health challenges and supporting initiatives that strengthen healthcare infrastructure and patient care.
